Meet McKayla

McKayla’s passion for supporting growing families began early. When her younger brother was born while she was 13, she discovered a natural calling to care for expecting parents and newborns. After high school, she earned her associate’s degree and completed her prerequisites for nursing school. All while working as a nanny to support herself through college.

An opportunity in wildland firefighting led her into a decade of service as a wildland firefighter and EMT. During that decade, she developed strong leadership, crisis‑response skills, and a deep dedication to helping others in high‑pressure environments. The Seasonal schedule of wildland fire also gave her opportunities to travel the world and expand her perspective.

She now wishes to take the resilience, confidence, and the ‘I can do hard things’ attitude into her work as a Birth worker.

She has completed a D.O.N.A. approved workshop for Birth Doula and Lactation consultant. She is also a complete nerd when it comes to Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Postpartum care. Always looking for ways to expand her knowledge.

McKayla plans to expand her practice to align with holistic values. She believes in the power and ability of the childbearing body. And with proper guidance and preparation, medical intervention could be at a minimum or even obsolete.

In her leisure time you can find her in the mountains, hiking, running, or biking. Community is very important to her as well. She finds connection through dance, and music.
